HotLinks ReadMe File.
This file details any changes/enhancements made to the program and any
corrections to the manual after the manual went to press.
Page 2.3:
Breaking the Link
Manual Says:
"...You can break the link or ub-publish the data by selecting the Publish
command while holding down the Shift key..."
CORRECTION: Holding down the shift key while selecting the Publish command
only works in PageStream. For the other programs (PageLiner and BME) you can
do the following:
1) shut down HotLinks (by using the killhl command).
2) start up the program which created the linked file (BME, etc.).
3) load the file which you want to break the link to.
4) Since hotlinks is not running the application cannot get the link
and will break it.
5) Save the unlinked file back out.
LOGGING IN:
HotLinks is shipped configured to automatically log in the user 'name'. So
the first time you run hotlinks, the login requester will not come up.
If you want to add a name and password for yourself or others, use the HUMP
program. To make hotlinks ask you for a login each time it is ran, simply
delete the 'HOTLINKS:hl.config' file. It is this file that tells hotlinks to
log you in automatically. This file is created by using the 'Perm' gadget in
the login window.
